This summer, a former principal of our corporation, who has not been affiliated with California City Landowners Association since the mid-1990s, formed a new competing company under the name of “California City Absentee Landowners News, L.L.C.” We find this choice strikingly similar to our name, “California City Landowners Association". We have advised the new company that we believe the similarity of names will cause confusion among our Members, potential Members and in the community. Unfortunately, their response was that they intend to engage in direct competition with us and apparently do not view the similarity in names to be confusing. We disagree, but leave it to you to judge for yourselves.
Therefore, we are advising our loyal members to be ever vigilant! We hope you are not drawn to the “sound alike” company by mistake.
